Welcome to the ‘Front Door’ of our 2015 Online Conference. From here you will be able to move through to other ‘rooms’ where exciting resources will be available and other Conference Events! Click on the image above to watch a short video describing this conference! This Conference will begin February 23rd and will end March 6th. What will be going on at this conference?
You will be invited to enjoy interviews with authors of the WinterPromise materials. You will also be able to enjoy blog posts, links and exciting giveaways throughout the conference days.
This will serve as our ‘Front Door’ and our ‘Main Conference Room.’ You can get seated here to find all our exciting resources and materials from the Conference. Daily Themes and Focus
Day One:
Getting to Know WinterPromise
This day we will explain the core principles and methods behind what WitnerPromise does. Answering questions like ‘What is the Experience Approach?’ What are some of the goals associated with WinterPromise. Who was Charlotte Mason and why is she so important? This day will be really informative and we want to lay the groundwork of who we are as a company.
Day Two:
Strengths of the Experience Approach
In Day two we want to talk about the strengths of our unique approach to homeschooling. Discussing the joy of discovery and how that works with education. We will be answering questions like ‘How does the Experience Approach help the parent keep homeschooling low-prep?’ It will be a great day to really highlight why we think our approach will bring such a joy, and enrichment to your homeschooling experience.
Day Three:
WinterPromise Langauge Arts
This is a HUGE day! Language Arts can be dry, or boring, or even to complicated. On this day we are going to explore the philosophy behind the WinterPromise Language Arts. You will meet the author of the ‘Pine Nut Park‘ characters in our younger learners Language Arts! We will talk about the goals of our Language Arts programs and what we want to accomplish in the students that use our LA. This day will be full of fun as well. You will get to meet the Pine Nut Park characters in a unique blog post. Make sure you make this day!
Day Four:
WinterPromise Teaching History and Culture
This day will be a day where we talk about our Themed Programs. WinterPromise packs a lot of history and culture into our Themed programs providing a rich learning experience. We want to talk about our Guides, why we do what we do, and what to expect to learn in the History and Culture of different topics and time periods.
Day Five:
WinterPromise Journaling
If there was one thing we would want you to be able to explore in-depth it would be our Journaling Exclusives. We have provided wonderful resources that really add the the depth and richness to our programs and we want you to see them! We want to show how you that you can use a lot of our Journaling resources as stand-alone resources. We will answer questions like ‘what kind of learning is involved in our Journals?’ and ‘What kind of work load does it add?’ Our Journaling Resources are a cornerstone to what we do and this is a must-attend day!
Day Six:
WinterPromise Teaching Science
This is our Science day! We will introduce to you how we bring the WinterPromise Experience to Science. Exploring our programs. Explaining why we simplify science. We will show you the flavor of our WinterPromise Science programs and the joy you can have with them.
Day Seven:
Schooling Students of Different Ages
Schooling with multiple ages can be such a challenge. It is hard to know if what your are interested in provides a rich and enjoyable learning experience for students of differing ages. In this day we will show how WinterPromise programs can be adapted and used for this success. Being able to teach multiple students of differing age inside one program is a huge part of the WinterPromise experience. We will also talk about the practicalities of managing multiple students of different ages during your homeschooling experience. This is going to be a really practical day!
Day Eight:
Schooling Students of Different Learning Styles
Along with multiple ages usually different students will have very different learning styles! One is a visual learning an thrives when viewing material. Another is a great oral learner and thrives when things are spoken and read aloud. What do you do when you have a hands-on learner and an oral learner side-by-side? We will tackle some of the most challenging parts of homeschooling from the educational side and on the practical side. We will also talk about how WinterPromise is uniquely designed to handle multiple learning styles in one program. All children of all learning styles deserve to thrive and we want to provide that for you!
Day Nine:
Practical Tips for the Homeschool Lifestyle
Time to get down to the nitty-gritty! This is real life. Laundry needs to get done. The house is a mess. Children are fighting. Errands need to be done. Then you also have to get through breakfast, and schooling, and getting them down for a nap. There is so much to do! We want to bring our experience to the table and provide advice and encouragement to the struggling family. Even if your not struggling and got this thing down you can help others by being a part of a conversation! This day will be really beneficial for all!
Day Ten:
Managing the Challenges of Homeschooling
This day will highlight the hardest aspects of homeschooling: stubborn children, uninterested children, parents with completely opposite schedules, how to build a family culture and much more! We want to encourage and strengthen you through the hard times! It will be an encouraging end to a great conference!
