This Language Arts Guide
This guide is 36-week schedule that coordinates the variety of resources included in this program. It schedules, writing instruction, writing ideas, writing, literature, literature evaluation, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and other language skills. The writing projects for this level involve traditional research topics that relate to British Literature. Teaching helps and other references are included in the front matter of this guide. Discussion topics on key literary elements are included each week.
This guide schedules resources from which students will discover a selection of writers and poets from across time in Britain, with a special focus on Shakespeare’s timeless works. The books scheduled in this guide are designed to acquaint your student with literature terms and various writing styles and periods. Various helps scheduled in the guide will allow them to critique the writing and discover the historical events and movements that influenced writers over the centuries. Marvelous resources will enhance students’ understanding of the literature they’re encountering. Students will also continue grammar instruction, vocabulary development, and offers guidance for all the major language arts skills.
This guide is different from our other LA guides in that it doesn’t schedule multiple reading options. This program does not have a coordinating literature set, as the “British Literature,” along with the two Shakespearean plays, provides more than enough literature for students. This program is recommended for use with “Quest for Royals and Revolution” themed program as many of the events in Europe studied in this program directly correspond with the literature movements in this program.
