A Notebooking Resource for “Animals and Their Worlds”
Target Age Group: Grades Pre-K to 4th
Type of Resource: Consumable
This Notebooking Resource
The Make-Your-Own Animal Book is a journaling resource that even the youngest learners can use. Each page features six questions that repeat throughout the resource to answer about different animals. The questions are the same and feature symbols so that kids who can’t read will become familiar with the question each symbol stands for and be able to answer the questions presented.
Students who are not yet reading are encouraged to draw their answers to the questions, while older students can write their answers at their own level, making this a very flexible resource. This resource is printed in full color.
Learning Experiences You’ll Enjoy in This Resource
Students will answer questions about an animal’s habitat, home, eating habits, enemies, and unusual traits. They’ll also be asked to complete a sentence about each animal. The animals profiled are the “animals of the week” highlighted in the “Animals and Their Worlds” program.
The notebook also includes additional ideas for creating a longer animal notebook, if your student would enjoy adding pages of their own making. Your student could also use reproducible journaling pages in the Animals and Their World Combined Guide to add additional nature study pages for a notebook that is all their own!
