Meet six American painters of note — Mary Cassatt, James McNeill Whistler, Charles M. Russell, Grant Wood, Norman Rockwell, and Jackson Pollock.  Their work includes examples of American Impressionism, realism, commercial illustration, and the modern technique of action painting. Students will learn about each artist just like Charlotte Mason suggested:  by looking at included full-color reproductions of the artists’ work and learn to appreciate it with interactive picture study activities and questions.
