Your Passport to World Cultures . . .

Prepare your passport, because we’re ready to go! You’ll travel this year through more than thirty countries, encountering their cultures and traditions, crafts and celebrations. But that’s not all! You’ll also take a mid-year break to enjoy learning about cultural and religious traditions surrounding Christmas. You’ll find geography instruction with our “Travel with Me” World Map and the figures you’ll place on it all year!

Another fantastic part of the journey is learning about the plight of children around the world. You’ll learn about kids who don’t have access to basic needs like clean water or shelter for the night. You’ll see how many children must work to survive, and find out how you can help to ease the suffering of children around the globe. Along the way you’ll meet people like George Mueller, who involved himself in rescuing thousands of orphaned children, and meet people who are doing the same today.

This is a very full program, so we are offering you the option not to include the cultural activities, but rest assured, these books will add greatly to your enjoyment of the program! We highly recommend them! Activities and learning opportunities this year are focused around cultural gatherings to prepare for your family. As always, they’re practical, fun & full of learning! Add the “Draw Your World” resource for grades 3+.

Take a Look at Features you'll love in your Program Guide:

  • Parent helps that are practical and help you “learn together” with your student
  • 36-week schedule laid out so clearly, you’ll “open and go” everyday
  • Festive cultural gatherings laid out for your family to work on and enjoy together

Decide Which Package is Right for Your Family!

Children Around the World with the Plight of Children Living Around the World | #CW | $344
Take your family on a journey through world cultures, history, geography and celebrations. You’ll travel to thirty countries, allowing you to focus on a different country each week. During the week you’ll read about a country’s geography and landscape, its unique history, its remarkable features and landmarks, and exotic places to visit. You’ll hear about all of it from a different child “host” in each country, and hear about the details of his or her life in their homeland. Then, you’ll also read books that connect your child personally to the plight of children living around the world who sleep in the streets, live without parents, work without pay, or go to bed hungry. Finally, you’ll have the thrill of seeing your family participate in plans to help some of these children and learn how many blessings your own family enjoys.

Should I Add the Cultural Experiences?
Children Around the World with Cultural Experiences Set | #CWC | $454

You can take the learning even further by adding the cultural experiences set to the basic set above. In addition to learning about cultures, history, geography and even the plight of children around the world, you’ll also get an exciting set of books to enhance your study even more with information about national products sought for and used all over the world, crops that support and feed entire nations, and even cultural pursuits for which other countries are famous. You’ll find these books listed farther down this webpage.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding this Program

What else do I need to add to this program to complete all the subjects?
We recommend that you add a language arts program, a math program, and a science program. We offer all of these, but this program will work fine if you use components from another program as well. It may help to know that our science programs are designed to be easy-to-use and a great complement to the in-depth nature of our themed programs. Additionally, our language arts are designed to be the perfect partner to our themed programs, as you’ll see in one of the questions below.

I have an older student. How can I integrate him or her into this family study?
You’ll find excellent suggestions right in our guidebook as to how to integrate a student from 6th through 9th grade. You’ll find many fantastic ideas and practical helps in this section of the guide. As to language arts, although we don’t have a reading list for these students, they can take the initiative to build their own reading list, and use more advanced country reports for their creative writing outlet, and still use one of our own language arts programs.

I’ve already got a few of the items in the package. Can I still get the package price and leave them out?
We love to offer our package prices to our parents to help them purchase a great program with a great discount. We do, however, have to sell all the items in the package in order to honor the discount. Usually the discount outweighs the value of the resources you might already have. If not, you can choose items individually to build your program, but remember -- the purchase of a themed program package ensures you also get free shipping, another discount you’ll want to take into account as you look at your total purchase.

How do the Language Arts coordinate with this program?
We have several language arts programs that coordinate with our Children Around the World Program. One of the wonderful features of our LA guides is that they are hole-punched on the right side so they will lie directly across from your themed guide so you can see your week at a glance. “LA 1” and “LA 2” each have reading lists right at their respective grade levels to enable students to experience comfortable reading growth. “LA 3” through “LA 5” share a common list that will be a mixture of reading levels. You can expect that most students will read comfortably through most of these books. A third grader may find one or two of the titles challenging, while a fifth grader may find one or two on the light side. Creative writing for younger students is covered by many of the interactive resources in the main program. For third through fifth grade students, they are expected to do a brief country report for each week. These can be traditional reports, imaginative displays, or artwork completed with parental input. You can link to any of these program in the section above these questions.
